EDUCATION LOTTERY RETAILERS RECEIVE RECOGNITION

Improving the visibility of instant tickets and keeping the dispensers full appears to be paying off for some North Carolina Education Lottery (NCEL) retailers. Two Greenville Region retailers have increased sales 149% and have been named "Stellar Sellers." Another retailer has been named a "S.T.A.R." for its enthusiasm for the games.

NCEL retailers that have increased their sales by the highest percentage in the region compared to the previous quarter earn the title of "Stellar Seller." One location per region earns the title of "S.T.A.R." (Spectacular Technique Achieving Retailer), based on NCEL sales representative recommendations for a store's unique sales promotion technique. The NCEL announces the following retail locations in the Greenville Region named "Stellar Seller" or S.T.A.R.:

Murphy USA #6768, 280 N.C. Highway 24, Morehead City

Murphy USA #6768 increased its sales by 149.67% compared to the previous quarter. Manager Donna Onesto worked with her NCEL sales representative to increase the visibility of the instant tickets. Dispensers were moved to the front counter so customers could see more easily which games were available for purchase.

Han-Dee Hugo #20, 8981 Caratoke Highway, Point Harbor

Han-Dee Hugo #20 increased its sales by 149.06%. Manager Maggie Humphries makes sure to keep the instant ticket dispensers full so her customers have a lot of games to choose from.

Charlie’s Grill & Grocery, 5135 County Home Road, Greenville

Charlie at Charlie's Grill & Grocery loves the "$100 Million Cash Spectacular" game and his lottery customers. "I cash out all the time … I don't refuse anyone!" he says. Charlie also posts every winning Cash Spectacular ticket in the area below his dispensers and near the terminal and cash register. He has posted so many tickets that he is running out of room, he says.
